About Roads and Maritime ServicesFrom 1 November 2011, Roads and Maritime Services commenced operations. Maritime Services is a Division of Roads and Maritime Services. Maritime Services is responsible for marine safety, regulation of commercial and recreational boating. NSW Maritime is also responsible for property management of submerged lands in Sydney Harbour, Newcastle Harbour, Botany Bay and Port Kembla. The agency has three branches: Maritime Services is self-funding with an annual operating budget in excess of $100 million.
